Happy 2011!!

I've been horrible at paying attention to the blog, but I will try to be better!

We only have updates on Ali...being a sock thief.... or other crazy things she does. I guess those can be blog worthy. Now that I have this back on my radar, I can post more fun things!!

Happy birthday to Chicky-baby! She was my 21st birthday present!!

To all those who might check this once a year, I will finally be updating soon!! I've been meaning to do this, but life happens and tends to get in the way.

I don't even know when the last update was, but this is what has happened:

*Phillip graduated and got a job as a staff accountant at Harrah's corporation
*We went to Hawaii for the first time
*We got Ali, the cutest puppy ever
and we have our next trip to Hawaii in 9 days!!

More of the same

I can't believe it is the middle of MARCH already. It is warming up nicely, soon to be miserable in Lovely Las Vegas. I've had the last 2 days off and it has been WONDERFUL. Oh how I miss the summer and 2 and a half months off of work. Only 3 weeks until Spring Break! Let the countdown continue!

This is what our schedules look like lately:
Emily: Work, home for an hour or two, school, come home and crash.
Phillip: School, occasionally work, more school, eventually sleep.

I am LOVING my ASL class. I just wish I had someone to practice with more! Although my tutoring session finally was a success and I met with Eddie Lee B. She was awesome. I was so excited to get help with my numbers.... they were confusing me. So I'm having some success in that class.

I'm putting off finishing my mid-term interview paper for my Social Work class.... I still have about 4 hours until I leave...so plenty of time before it is due. I hate how I put things off...but at least I get them done.

This week I go and talk to an adviser about applying for the Social Work program. Hopefully all will go well with that.

Last week Phillip applied for graduation. FINALLY! I hope there is an end in sight. Not exactly sure of the final plans.... if he's going to continue on to a masters program or not but at least we are getting somewhere.

Forgive my absence

I promise to one day get around to updating this. Now is not that time. Its only 8:30pm and I'm halfway to bed, thanks to the most wonderful generic form of ambien.

School has started and I'm overwhelmed already. Tomorrow will be the interesting day. For my ASL (american sign language) class we have to have lab hours, and for one of my hours before class will be tutoring with I believe an older deaf lady. As long as I have something to write with I should be okay...and as long as she knows her colors and numbers, I'll be ok too! And somehow I'll get through that hour and then have to go take a quiz in that ASL class.

More to follow....If I don't get in bed now, I'll probably fall asleep on the floor and Phillip will trip over me when he gets home..... Hope everyone is doing well!

Sad News

Unfortunately I have some sad news. This morning we put Bruno to sleep. He has been sick since the day we got him and he has gotten worse over the last couple of months. He would shake a lot. We thought it was because he needed food, but the vet said that it was because of pain. I love my puppy Bruno, and this has been really hard on me. It was so weird not to see his water bowl today, hear him scratch on the door to come in, or see him hang out in our room all day. I figured to help the grieving process for me, I will do a post about Bruno. I want to go through my scrapbook and find pictures of him. When I find some time, and my red eyes clear a little bit, I'll have more about Bruno.

Everything in one - update

August 15th was Phillip's last day working for the homebuilder. I was starting work the following Thursday again full time. So we decided to take one last trip and enjoy it while we could. It seems as though our new favorite place to go is Disneyland. We spent a few days in both parks, went to the beach and hung out, and went to a Dodger's game. Here are some pictures of the trip.

Pardon the ugly fever blister. It decided to appear before the trip and be annoying the whole time.
We went to Ripley's Believe it or Not museum and that was an interesting place.

Look carefully at the next couple of pictures. Someone had a lot of time on their hands.

Vacations are truly never long enough.
The only other thing since this last vacation has been school and work and back to the busy life.
I'm looking forward to the holiday's to see and spend time with family! From now until Feburary time seems to go fast. We have Thanksgiving, Christmas, Wedding anniversary (2 years in January!), my birthday, Phillip's birthday, then Valentine's Day. At least we get it all over with at once!

Sara's Wedding

I was able to fly up to Utah for Sara's wedding. First of all.... flying is so much nicer than driving, especially by yourself. I stayed with Katie and Parker entertained me most of the time.

I also have a few pictures from the wedding and open house at the Whitakers.
