Sad News

Unfortunately I have some sad news. This morning we put Bruno to sleep. He has been sick since the day we got him and he has gotten worse over the last couple of months. He would shake a lot. We thought it was because he needed food, but the vet said that it was because of pain. I love my puppy Bruno, and this has been really hard on me. It was so weird not to see his water bowl today, hear him scratch on the door to come in, or see him hang out in our room all day. I figured to help the grieving process for me, I will do a post about Bruno. I want to go through my scrapbook and find pictures of him. When I find some time, and my red eyes clear a little bit, I'll have more about Bruno.

Everything in one - update

August 15th was Phillip's last day working for the homebuilder. I was starting work the following Thursday again full time. So we decided to take one last trip and enjoy it while we could. It seems as though our new favorite place to go is Disneyland. We spent a few days in both parks, went to the beach and hung out, and went to a Dodger's game. Here are some pictures of the trip.

Pardon the ugly fever blister. It decided to appear before the trip and be annoying the whole time.
We went to Ripley's Believe it or Not museum and that was an interesting place.

Look carefully at the next couple of pictures. Someone had a lot of time on their hands.

Vacations are truly never long enough.
The only other thing since this last vacation has been school and work and back to the busy life.
I'm looking forward to the holiday's to see and spend time with family! From now until Feburary time seems to go fast. We have Thanksgiving, Christmas, Wedding anniversary (2 years in January!), my birthday, Phillip's birthday, then Valentine's Day. At least we get it all over with at once!

Sara's Wedding

I was able to fly up to Utah for Sara's wedding. First of all.... flying is so much nicer than driving, especially by yourself. I stayed with Katie and Parker entertained me most of the time.

I also have a few pictures from the wedding and open house at the Whitakers.

Fun with Parker

This past weekend Katie, Neil, and Parker were down here. He is SO much fun since his surgery. He is a pretty happy kid except when he's in cold water and is being splashed.
It is fun to rent-a-child for the weekend. Phillip and I LOVE playing with kids, and right now we also LOVE giving them back to mom and dad.

One day in the not so near future we will have kids of our own, but giving them back works for us right now.

I have discovered that Parker likes to play the Wii with me. I put him on my lap and figured he would be grabbing at the control, but I would tell him to look at the TV and he would. We were playing Mario Kart. He sat there for longer than I expected him to. When no one was around to distract him, we would just hang out. He got into it just as much as I did.
Maybe now with this blog, it'll motivate me to take more pictures. Although I was comfortable, I'd rather not have pictures of me and my Sunday afternoon attire (jammies).

Phillip's Graduation

On May 19, 2008, was Phillip's graduation from CSN with his Associates in Business. That also happened to be my first night of class at UNLV. I was worried I wasn't going to make it to the graduation. The class started at 5pm and the graduation began at 6pm. Luckily my teacher only had us do a few things and we were outta there! My class was in the building right behind the Thomas and Mack so I was able to make it to the ceremony before it even started!

That was something I was so glad I could do. This is a big thing for Phillip! He is doing awesome in school. At the end of the summer, if things go well, he will be a FULL time student at UNLV and will *crosses fingers* hopefully finish his Accounting degree in about a year and a half. During that time, I will be the bread winner. We'll see how that goes!
Because we didn't think I was going to be able to make it to the graduation, Phillip called his aunt Janet (on the right) to see if she would come. His mom Natalie (top left) was also able to come down from WY for the occasion.
After the ceremony, Phillip, Natalie and I went to celebrate at TGIFriday's. It was a nice way to end the evening.

Finally getting around to joining the rest of the world

Hello from Vegas!!

I have decided to join quite a few members of my family as well as friends and everyone else with a blog. It will be the easiest way to keep in touch with everyone. First, the typical introduction!
For those who are wondering, "Who in the world are the Roberts?" Let me clarify one thing... I was once a Whitaker.
Phillip and Emily started dating in the summer of 2005 and were married on January 6, 2007 in the Las Vegas Temple.

It was a wonderful day, but it seemed like things went wrong a lot! From a little old lady (who was helping me) falling down, then leaving my recommend in my purse (which was in the back of my parents car but they had left to get the reception ready) and having to wait for someone to pick us up from the temple to barely arrive to the reception on time.

Its all makes great stories to laugh at now.

Since then, we have been doing much of the same: work and school. Phillip is working on his Accounting degree at UNLV. He has been going full time while working full time as a customer service rep at a home building company. If things go as planned, he will be taking some time off of work to go to school full time in order to finish the degree by the fall semester of next year.

I'm currently working with the school district and am SO thankful for the summer off! I finished off the year working part-time, but when school starts up again in August, I will be back full time. I'm also going to school, still trying to get the last few generals out of the way before going into the Social Work program at UNLV. I aspire to be like my Mom, who has a 5-day WEEKEND. One day I wish to be so lucky. And I couldn't even begin to give an estimated finish date because I'm only going part time. One day I will finish.

Other than that, we're pretty much in a schedule of the same things only on different days. Hopefully I won't let this sit for a while before updating it again!
